Invictus, stars Morgan Freeman (The Dark Knight) as Nelson Mandela. Just after the fall of Apartheid in South Africa, Mandela joins forces with South African Rugby team captain Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon). The two work together to try and unite blacks and whites in South Africa by bringing the Rugby World Cup to their home soil, in a country that has been devastated by Apartheid.
Morgan Freeman seems like a fitting role for the much loved Mandela and Matt Damon can add another great role to his list of Film’s-he’s-been-awesome-in with his role as Pienaar. Directed by all-time great Clint Eastwood Invictus looks to be a heart warming pleaser. Just watch the trailer above.
Adapted from the book Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game That Changed a Nation by John Carlin, this film looks to press all the right buttons. Watch out for it from early December in the USA and January in the UK.

Nice trailer for such a emotionally laden film. I think the film could be a very interesting take on some very overdiscussed topics in the past. Having said that, i do hope Morgan Freeman is willing to go beyond to accomplish his role this time around. I am not too convinced at the accent hes trying to produce though, some parts sounds authentic, other times it just sounds put on. Either way I will be seeing this movie when it comes out, will be an interesting watch.
