Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Featurette

A featurette clip of the first look at Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been released, for those that still care.

With behind the scenes and interviews with director David Yates and producer David Heyman ending with a teaser trailer.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m an avid fan of the books and I used to anticipate the films so much, I counted down the days til the release *cringe*. But its safe to say that I couldn’t care less anymore. The acting doesn’t inspire me (Daniel, Rupert and Emma are “better than ever”, yeah right), the films get progressively worse and unmemorable and even the director’s getting freaking bored of it all. It’s like he’s reciting the lines from a script but in his head he’s thinking “Thank God it’s almost over”.

Even the teaser trailer did nothing for me – what’s worse than falling flat on it’s face? Oh yeah, being rock bottom and still continue digging – cos that’s exactly what the trailer looked like to me. What was that? A Year 7 kid running around in his own back garden with a camcorder could do a better job.

The hype for Harry Potter is well and truly over. It’s all about Twilight now *rolls eyes*

Who’s with me here? Or do you think Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows teaser trailer looks promising?

  1. I disagree Alice. :) . I thoroughly enjoyed the last harry potter film, I preferred it to Order of the Phoenix as I felt the actor that played Umbridge wasn’t cast correctly. I felt the same that the three leads mentioned were not that great actors but I honestly think they have gotten better through time although they do need a lot of work. In my opinion Rupert is the only decent one out of the three.

Yeah OK the teaser trailer wasn’t all that but I don’t have high expectations for the upcoming film and I have never had high expecations for most of the potter films since the original film.

My reasons are most novel to film adaptations do not measure up to being as epic as the book, the only one being better then the book was Mario Puzo’s the Godfather and the reason for this is because the Author also wrote the screenplay. In the case of Harry Potter J.K Rowling hasn’t done any such thing. Another reason being that Warner Bros are using Harry Potter as a cash cow to make money and lets face it Harry Potter is a multimillion dollar franchise and the films are often rushed into production with deadlines in place so levels quality control is lost.

The hype is not over as millions of people from around the world that have read the books and watched the movies, bought the toys and video games are looking forward to the next film.

Personally I’m looking forward to it. Indeed it’s not at the top of my list but as an avid reader of the books I’d like to see the film adaptation and how it all ends :) .

I don’t see how you can compare something great like the Harry Potter franchise to a mere chickflick the like Twilight Saga :) . the last twilight film got a less then 40% at Rotten Tomatoes infact new moon sucks more then any harry potter film ever made.
