A lively animation, Despicable Me directed by both Pierre Coffin (Gary’s Fall, 2003) and Chris Renaud (No Time for Nuts, 2006).
Following on with the trend of 3D animation films, it is set in a happy suburban neighbourhood focusing on the evil plots of a criminal mastermind paired with the comedic qualities of the film, has made it become one to look forward to this year.
Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) the world’s greatest villain is hatching the ultimate plan to steal the moon in his secret hideout. Possessing some wicked weapons; freeze rays, shrink rays and vehicles for land and air, and accompanied by a small army of minions, he is determined to meet his goal. However, when one day he meets a trio of orphans; Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier) and Agnes (Elsie Fisher) his cunning qualities begin to subside as he is seen through their eyes as a potential father figure.
From the executive producer of Ice Age, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, and Horton Hears A Who, Despicable Me also features Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Will Arnett, Kristen Wiig and Jemaine Clement.
With a remarkably adorable trailer, many are awaiting the release of this new film; this should be a big hit!
