Well some of us are sick of it. Sick to death of this infatuation with blood-suckers – hence the film Vampires Suck was born.

From people who “can’t stand sitting through another vampire movie” for the very same type of people, this film is one long parody ripping vampires and all mythical creatures involved to shreds – namely targeting Twilight. And whilst we’re at it, we might as well take the mick out of the actual actors and actresses too – why the hell not.

Jason Friedberg, the writer for Vampires Suck also wrote Scary Movie 1,2, 3 and 4 – when it comes to spoof writing, you can’t deny that this guy is the pro.

For vampire haters, this could arguably be the best vampire film ever made, but for the rest of us hard-to-please audience this spoof movie could go in the garbage can along with the rest of the failed attempts at cheap hilarity *ahem* Lesbian Vampire Killers *ahem* hugely disappointing.

Vampires Suck is due for release in the USA on 18th August 2010.

Federale Machete (Danny Trejo) is highly skilled in assassination and is hired to assassinate a senator but just as he’s about to take the shot, he realises someone is aiming at him and that he’s been set up. Barely dodging the sniper’s bullet, he’s livid and is not to be messed with. Seeking revenge on former employers, he recruits his reluctant old friend who has now become a priest and taken a vow of nonviolence.

Let the brutal rampage of revenge against his former boss begin, mixed in with plenty of hot girls-kicking-ass action – woopee!

Also starring Robert De Niro and Lindsay Lohan – yep you read that right – Lindsay Lohan is actually in this film – thought that might get you excited? No? Yeah, I thought not.

Machete will be out on general release in USA on 3rd September – no word yet on UK release date.

Devil (2010) is about random strangers that find themselves trapped in an elevator whereby events seemingly happen for a reason. Theses strangers soon discover that one of them are not who they appear to be – apparently, one of them is the devil.

Starring Chris Messina, Joshua Peace, Geoffrey Arend and Caroline Dhavernas.

Judging upon the first watch of the trailer – I’d say words to describe Devil would be “tense”, “captivating” and perhaps even “hell-raising”, I love supernatural horrors and anything involving demonic, devilish presences also make my freakish appetite salivate.

However online critics are not receiving this trailer well. Poor M. Night Shyamlan has received worse and worse beatings by critics with every release of his works since The Sixth Sense that was hailed as one of the best supernatural horrors.

It has high potential to disappoint due to 80% of the film takes place in the elevator and nobody famous is in it – probably due to M. Night Shyamalan losing an obscene amount of credibility that he couldn’t cast a single actor anyone’s heard of. It also seems that the subsequent works of M. Night Shyamalan after The Sixth Sense have all received progressively worse reception including Unbreakable (2000) IMDb rating – 7.3/10, Signs (2002) IMDb rating – 6.9/10, The Village (2004) IMDb rating – 6.6/10, Lady in the Water (2006) IMDb rating – 5.8/10, The Happening (2008) IMDb rating – 5.2/10.

Oh dear.. will Devil (2010) hit an all time low of below 5/10 on IMDb?

Devil will be out in the US on 17th September, no word yet on when it will hit the UK.

The Film Buzz Anticipation Rating: *****~~~~~ (5/10)

Zac Efron plays Charlie who is overcome with grief when his younger brother Sam (Charlie Tahan) is killed in a devastating car accident. Charlie is brought back but finds that he can speak with the deceased, so he spends his time bonding again with his younger brother.

This role will certainly be a change for Efron, as he moves well and truly away from his High School Musical days and is probably better for him. Unfortunately though, I have a feeling that this one may end up being quite predictable – they gave away too much information in the trailer, which got me thinking maybe Charlie’s brother isn’t the only ‘deceased’ person he sees.

The original Predator movie from 1987 starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as Dutch the leader of a group of elite commandos who are sent to an undisclosed location to search for missing hostages but end up finding that they themselves are being hunted by a merciless predator. Predators is not so far away from the original plot.

This latest incarnation Predators is set in an alien world that is used as a game preserve and Adrien Brody plays Royce who along with several other mercenaries and soldiers are left to fight for their lives in the game preserve as they are hunted by the Predators. Since Predator was released there have been three sequels  including a tie in with the highly popular Aliens Franchise in the film Aliens vs. Predators.

The Predator franchise (including Alien spin-offs) is highly successful, raking in approximately $456, 866, 119 since the first Predator film, and Predators doesn’t look like it will disappoint.  Brody himself put on a few pounds to play the part of Royce, I still can’t picture him in the role  (all I see is The Pianist) so it will be good to see how he fares and Fishburne looks like he’s on fine form as ever. Expect lots of violence and things going boom.

Se7en and Zodiac director David Fincher will take up the director’s chair, with Jesse Eisenberg playing Facebook billionaire owner Mark Zuckerberg. Justin Timberlake stars as well as Max Minghella and Andrew Garfield. The Social Network hits UK theatres at the end of this year.

This time Lucy (Georgie Henley) and Edmund Pevensie (Skandar Keynes) will return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace (Will Poutler), where they find themselves on the Dawn Treader along with Caspian the boy they helped become king in the second Narnia story Prince Caspian as well as the warrior mouse Reepicheep (Bill Nighy).

The Dawn Treader is King Caspian’s ship and they sail to find the seven lost lands of Narnia. Where they encounter many strange and magical folk such as dragons, Dufflepuds, slave traders and the all powerful lion Aslan voiced by Liam Neeson.

The Dawn Treader was probably one of my least favourite of the Narnia books, but as I see the story come alive, even I admit they may be more to the Dawn Treader than when I read it several years ago. Roll on December.

All we know on the plot so far is that The Smurfs will find themselves a magical portal which will lead them away from their middle ages village to modern day New York, definitely not original but The Smurfs looks like a fun movie, and I can’t wait to see all the old characters such as Gargamel, Smurfette and Papa Smurf back again.

Expect to hear lot’s of famous voices for the cast including Katy Perry, Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Hank Azaria (The Simpsons), and Anton Yelchin (Star Trek).

Takers, is based around a group of criminals who execute perfect bank robberies. However their last heist goes awry when Detective Welles played by Dillon is hard set on stopping the notorious group – sounds like a rip off of lots of other bank robbery movies to me.

Sure looks like plenty of action, violence and bombs going off which I’m sure many of you will love, but I find it hard to be interested in any movie where Hayden Christensen is cast, he may be a pretty face, but he is most definitely a poor actor.  Now someone please explain to me why Chris Brown and T.I have been cast in this movie?  Maybe they’re supposed to give the movie that ‘cool edge’.  I’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of seeing Brown act before and I wouldn’t sit through that again in a hurry, and T.I just looks like he’s trying way too hard. And why does Paul Walker say to me cheap version of Bradley Cooper?

I’m sorry, but your’re gonna have to pay me to see this. Takers is released this autumn.

The Bandit, Flynn Rider voiced by Chuck’s Zachary Levi is running from the law and ends up taking refuge in a mysterious tower, he’s then taken hostage by Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) and her 70ft long golden hair.

I haven’t really been interested in many Disney flicks of late, but this one looks like it could hold my attention, looks like mighty impressive with plenty of laughs for the whole family.

Tangled is directed by Nathan Greno & Byron Howard who between them have worked on the movies: Bolt, Pocahontas, Lilo & Stich, Meet the Robinsons and more, let’s see if Tangled will meet the same great standards of some of their earlier work.
